How To Stay Grounded – When You Give So Much

How to Stay Grounded When You Give So Much to Others

Because you deserve to feel held, too.
Let’s take a breath together. A long, slow, deep one. In and out.

Now ask yourself:
“When was the last time I checked in with me?”

When you’re in a season of giving – be it wiping tiny hands, answering countless questions, our careers, managing meals, emotions, appointments (and everything in between) – it’s easy to become untethered. You’re moving, doing, loving, serving. But sometimes, without even realising it, you drift a little too far from your own centre.

Why Grounding Matters

Grounding brings you back home to yourself.
It’s not a luxury – it’s essential.

When you’re grounded, you feel calm, clear and connected. Your nervous system settles.
Your thoughts feel less like a whirlwind. You’re able to respond instead of react. And most importantly – you start to feel like yourself again.

Signs You Might Need to Slow Down

Even the most intuitive, nurturing women can miss the signs. Here are a few gentle red flags that your soul might be whispering for a reset:

Signs You Might Need to Slow Down

Even the most intuitive, nurturing women can miss the signs. Here are a few gentle red flags that your soul might be whispering for a reset:

💜 You feel emotionally snappy or overly reactive
💜 You’re exhausted, even after sleep
💜 You feel disconnected from your body or breath
💜 You can’t seem to enjoy the little things
💜 You crave silence but rarely find it
💜 You’re always putting yourself at the bottom of the list

If this resonates – you are not alone. And there is nothing “wrong” with you. It just means it’s time to come back to centre.

Ways to Re-Ground Yourself

These don’t need to take hours. In fact, most of them can be done in five minutes or less. The magic is in the intention – not the length.

1. Grounding Through Touch – Reflexology at Home
A quick foot massage – especially working on the centre of your feet – can instantly bring you back into your body. This is the reflex point connected to your solar plexus – your emotional centre. Even 2-3 minutes can shift your whole energy.

2. Breathe Like You Mean It
Try this simple breath work technique:
Inhale for 4 – Hold for 4 – Exhale for 6.
Repeat for 1-2 minutes with your eyes closed. Feel your feet. Feel your breath. Feel the now.

3. Anchor in Nature
Even standing outside barefoot for 60 seconds can ground your energy. Press your feet into the earth. Let the sun or breeze touch your skin. Nature resets us, always.

4. Say Yes to Stillness
The first cup of tea in silence before the day starts. Let stillness be your reset button. Getting up 10 or 15 minutes earlier than everyone else everyday can be game changing, allowing yourself that time to start your day with intention and purpose.

5. Come Back to You With Ritual
Light a candle, journal one sentence, say an affirmation aloud.
Rituals don’t have to be grand – they just need to be yours.

You Deserve to Be Held, Too

At Sole Scent Wellness, I believe in holding space for the ones who are always holding
everyone else. Whether it’s through a healing reflexology session, within the S.O.L.E
Sanctaury Community, or a morning like my mum and baby reflexology group or a workshop in our Well Mum event – you are always welcome to come and exhale here.

Just a Reminder…

You don’t have to do it all. You don’t have to do it perfectly.
You are allowed to ask for help. You are allowed to pause.
And you are always, always worthy of the care you so freely give.

Wishing you Wellness,

Sinead x
